New Moon in LEO 8.16.23

With Mercury transiting Virgo for soooo long (through October 5th this year!) I am over-the-top antsy to tidy, clean up, get rid of, organize, and generally get things in some semblance of order. This is all well and good as I like to make big messes doing creative projects and find that I enjoy the cleaning up after as much as I enjoy the creating of! I am finding that this time of the New Moon in creative Leo and the heightened energy of a Virgo Mercury creating and tidying up afterward go hand-in-hand..for me! Knowing your own chart, your tendencies, your preferences, your pleasures and your delights makes for a better experience each and every day.

New Moon in LEO says: GET CREATIVE! Let those juices flow. Each moment is a creative opportunity. What does your heart call you to create? A road trip? A collage? Lunch? Do that!

Not that there aren’t surprises, Uranian-style, to rock your boat, shake you out of any lethargy (lingering or new) and awaken you to the preciousness of each day. We humans love to live in the illusion that we are in control. Ha! The only thing you have control over is how you respond to everything you have no control over. And that’s an illusion too if you have not cleared out your ancestral and early childhood programming. If you have not tended to cleaning out that rat’s nest then you may think you are making decisions with ‘free will’ and ‘free choice’ but really you are just reacting with your pre-programmed responses. And, of course, there is the trauma each of us has experienced in one way or another throughout this incarnation. When trauma patterns are triggered – and sometimes they are running 24/7 like a virus in your computer – don’t forget computers are created by humans and demonstrate the same ‘issues’ humans have!- those trauma triggers create all kinds of havoc in your world. So…no better time than RIGHT NOW – to clear that crap out once and for all so you can live free of the old stories, free to live in your sovereignty.

Sovereignty! The perfect LEO word. This New Moon’s shadow potential is heightened by a conjunction from Black Moon Lilith, the dissociated, rejected part of yourself that must be integrated into the full picture in order to be functioning at your potential – if you want that! Being fully integrated with all your parts makes for happier, less stressed out, less anxiety-ridden YOU.

Year of the Rabbit 2023

Back when I was in college, when pterodactyls ruled the skies, my boyfriend had this little Fiat, which occasionally (and often in treacherous winter conditions) I would have to drive. You would think this would have been fun, or at least exciting, but that Fiat had what was called a non-synchronized first gear, which meant that as hard as I might try, first gear was a crap shoot every time. It would have been easier to stick my feet through the floorboards and run with the car around my waist. That’s kind of what it feels like right now. Even though Jupiter has entered Aries and all systems should be a GO! I feel like I have a FIAT around my waist and I am trying to get to the grocery store. which undoubtedly will be out of broccoli by the time I get there. For sure there will be no eggs.

No need to worry, though, because the one thing I DO know here on Planet Earth, is that things will change. They always do. And as all the planets get into forward motion gear – Uranus stations direct on 1.22.23 at 14 degrees Taurus – movement will click in, and there WILL be forward motion and things will hum along again, though perhaps the views will be quite different than they have been and we might be in first gear for a bit.

The New Moon in Aquarius, the first NEW MOON of the New Year of the Rabbit, happens on January 21st – the perfect opportunity to set your INTENTIONS (not your resolutions – how tedious that is!) for what you next wish to experience. This New Moon forms an out-of-sign conjunction with Pluto hovering at 28 degrees Capricorn, just 3 degrees away from the New Moon. Pluto just behind the New Moon in Aquarius is like having a rather intense bouncer escorting you into the Club of New Dimensions and you’re not quite sure if he is going to have an issue with your fake ID.

Go deep with your intention-setting. GO for the BIG DREAM. No reason to hold back now. Are we not all just totally exhausted from holding back? Aquarius balks at limitations of any sort, especially any rules or have-to’s set by anyone else, especially any perceived authority figure(s).

Jupiter in Aries puts your pedal to the metal. Even if you’re still creeping along in first gear, you will be moving forward, even if that movement is incrementally minute. Aries in not known for patience so hopefully you have some treats to nibble on as you creep forward and then, of a sudden, you’re in a faster lane.

Ok, so as of January 22, ALL the planets will be moving FORWARD. This is good news if you are even considering getting off the couch from your binge-watching, even if it’s just to forage in your cabinets for that lone cookie that fell behind the box and is waiting for you to discover. I realize this may not be relevant to you. You may be wind-surfing in New Zealand or doing some other exciting thing that is so beyond where I am in the frigid winter wonderland of my non-winter sports (or any sport, for that matter) reality. You may be bursting with energy and raring to go. But many that I chat with these days are in some kind of just awakening from a Sleeping Beauty sleep of a hundred years, dazed and confused as to what possibly could be next. And was that a kiss that just awakened me or was that my cat sneezing in my face?

Saturn and Venus are conjunct at 23 and 24 degrees Aquarius, respectively, so don’t be surprised if your LOVE vibes are either restricted (Saturn) or just waaaay out of the box from what you had imagined (Aquarius). The very nature of Aquarius, ruled by the planet Uranus, is one of surprise, unexpected breakthroughs and general chaos as things rearrange themselves in your lego collection, even without you looking.

Black Lilith, goddess asteroid of the shadow, where your personal, and our collective, blinders are, is exactly opposing the NEW MOON at 1 degree Leo. Ask to be shown what you normally cannot see about your creative potential and the happy child’s delight at having fun. Even if you were not happy as a child – you can be a happy child now. I’m planning a tea party for my stuffed animals and I’m pretty excited about that, as are they!

It’s absolutely Springtime in the Rockies..4 feet of snow one day and and sunbathing the next. This is historic Central City looking all the more 1800’s in a beautiful and most welcome snowfall. And no surprise that this March snow heralds the Spring Equinox as the Sun enters fiery Mars-ruled Aries on March 20 at 3:37am Mountain time. Night and day of equal length and then the days grow luxuriously long until the summer Solstice in June.

I’ve gotten to dressing my cat up in his finest so you can see where my head is at. If I don’t start having some serious fun and frolicking soon who knows how far I will turn ’round the corner? As an aside…Arthur seemed to love dressing up…who knew?

The Moon at 16 degrees Gemini supports heart-centered and heart-directed communication. Send some love notes out into the omniverse. LOVE can heal all hurts, even if it takes a lifetime or two.

 Mercury is at 6 degrees Pisces making a square to Mars at 9 degrees Gemini.Mercury in Pisces is dreamy and not so great at clear communication. Sometimes Mercury in Pisces can feel like Mercury retrograde (oh great) so be extra kind and compassionate in both your talking and your listening, Much can be misunderstood so account for that. Mercury’s square to Mars can trigger Mars’ aggressiveness which in Gemini would look like verbal bantering easily turning into arguing. Best to resist saying what might cause hurt. For sure think before you blurt.

Venus at 28 degrees Pisces conjoins Neptune at 21 degrees Pisces and forms an out-of-sign conjunction with the Sun at 0 degrees Aries. A lovely Venus sandwich of tender, easily hurt feelings and strong desires to help those in need. You certainly don’t have to look far to see so much need. Any little bit you do to help will serve you as much as you serve those needing help. Love begets Love and on and on. The more horrified you are at what you may hear or see the more you will feel soothed by extending LOVE. Throw some extra shekels to your favorite charity – mine is the

Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue – or do a kindness for any being at all. You’ll feel better. I promise.

Mars at 9 degrees Gemini, and Mars’ entire journey through Gemini until April 23, is dicey for communication. Forceful and clear communication is great but tip a bit too far and you’ve entered

the field of aggression. Pace yourself. Peace yourself.

Jupiter at 20 degrees Aquarius has cruised right on past Saturn at 10 degrees Aquarius. Aquarius triggers your genius, your innovative thinking as it brings unexpected events that ultimately liberate. Staying flexible and being with WHAT IS is the best advice I can give, well always, but specifically when Aquarian energy is activated.

Uranus at 8 degrees Taurus is still in close enough proximity to Black Lilith at 16 degrees Taurus to allow for quite sudden breakthroughs and deeper understanding of your own shadow, revealing what you may not have known about yourself resulting in some breaking free, some deeper liberation, perhaps freeing yourself from unconscious programming.

Pluto is at 26 degrees Capricorn, still working the final transformational shifts in the systems and our relationship with those whose authority we either follow or don’t. Pluto will be transiting Capricorn until March 2023 so expect way more changes in how the systems work. As Jupiter moves through Aquarius for the rest of 2021, with a teaser dip into Pisces mid-May to the end of July, and Saturn transiting Aquarius through March 2023, your input is needed, you as part of the global community of humans,

magical late afternoon light of december

I just love the late afternoon December light in the foothills of the Rockies. There is something so magical and trance-like about it, the last rays of light before early sunsets and the rising of winter constellations. A time of reflection on the year passing as I consider the possibilities for the new year just ahead.

I always like to do a thorough cleaning out of my stuff at year’s end. Files, closets and especially I like to give all my crystals a nice bath. As you can see Arthur is helping. Cleanse your crystals frequently as they pick up all sorts of stuff -yours and other people’s. Cleanse them so they can work best for you and your intention-setting.

What else is happening in the cosmos?

Mercury conjoins the Sun for the Full Moon. Mercury in Capricorn is all about keeping the goal insight and having the mental discipline to stay on task. Mercury in Capricorn can be overly directive and accomplishment-oriented. Along with Mercury in Virgo a Capricornian Mercury can set an unrelenting standard. Beware! The unrelenting standard is endlessly tedious and exhausting.

The Full Moon axis makes a square to Chiron at 5 degrees Aries. Lunar illumination on your wounds and where you might need to take some risks to take action to release them. Awareness is step #1. Then you can release them to the infinite void where they will be transformed into something else entirely.

The Sun makes a trine aspect of opening and ease to Black Lilith and Uranus. Spontaneous liberation from the power your shadow side holds. Release and liberation. Let it be so.

Jupiter and Saturn have entered the futuristic sign of Aquarius, The future has arrived. And it is us.
