Process the accumulated grief of this past year – the anniversary of the year of COVID and civil unrest which plummeted us all into confronting our core values as human co-habitants on planet earth. I find myself spontaneously bursting into tears – sometimes tears of grief and sadness for all who are suffering (especially any animals!), sometimes tears of relief that I am hear to breathe another day, to smell another flower. It’s an intentionally emotional time. Sometimes I feel like my skin is raw and bare, my bones brittle, and I can hardly face another human being. All i can do is squeeze Arthur the cat. Other times I crave being with other people to engage in a group laugh and song.

Yesterday, in between winter storms, I drove through the foothills of the Rockies to visit my friend Eric in Central City, a historic Colorado town, where he is the caretaker of the historic buildings owned by the Central City Opera. Every time I visit there I feel like I enter another dimension – a pop-up book of magical impossibilities that are, in fact, possible. Eric is my magical connection and when I feel like I am too attached to WHAT IS I visit with him to move from WHAT IS to WHAT COULD BE. His strong Piscean energy triggers my Mars in Pisces and I feel happy. Eric can always be found at the Teller House or through the Tour office in Central City if you want to infuse a little magic into your own life. If you’re in the area I highly recommend a visit after the snow melts. There’s nothing quite like a dose of Piscean magic.

Whatever your current reality, smooth or rough, gluten-free, vegan – however you navigate the endless array of choice you have, take this New Moon energy and BE the creator being you are blessed to be. Create your reality. You do anyway. Dream your desired reality into form.

I know what my reality looks like. A world where all are provided for and safe, every single being on the planet, every species, none excluded. A world where there is an abundance of food, shelter, joy and play and everyone’s heart is open to joy. A world where each being rejoices in being alive and all the other beings applaud and serenade in some wild, GRAND collective joy.

On the way back from the mountains, the jazz station I love to listen to KUVO (it’s streamable if you can’t get it where you live – it’s an amazing station) played Chuck Mangione’s Land of Make Believe. That song came out in 1973 and I used to listen to it when I first moved to Colorado. It’s kind of a freedom song for me, a song of unthinkable possibilities (could a girl from the Bronx even dream of the Rocky Mountains outside of a Bonanza episode?). I really hadn’t heard it since. Just the first few chords burst my heart so wide open, my smile nearly broke my face. Like how I feel when I see my cat happy laying about in the late afternoon sun. What makes you ecstatically happy? Put more of that in every single moment, every single day. Don’t wait! if we have learned one thing this year it’s how precious every moment really is.

As I ventured down the canyon, listening to Chuck Mangione, the trees seemed to be dancing and the rocky slopes of the canyon glistened with the promise of Spring. Willows along the creek paraded their shimmer of golden blush, their buds sensing the earth warming as we approach the Spring Equinox. Immediately, with that first chord, i was back in the wonder of the near impossibility of making a move from the East Coast to the magical Rocky Mountains, where all things unimaginable really do exist. Your imagination knows no bounds and is extending a huge hand out to you to join in the land where all things are possible.
