Piscean mists
I was driving on a favorite road of country plains and surprise ponds, enjoying the late-winter palette of browns and greys, highlighted by crisp snow and skies so blue you think you have your filters on. But then again, who doesn’t have filters on? Is not the trick to realize what filters you are choosing to view and experience your life, fully aware that you can change filters at any time for any reason at all? I was looking at this rowboat, seemingly abandoned out on a lake, frozen into place by recent snows. I was so taken by this scene, thinking about the stuck feeling so many of us have right now. Poised and primed to move forward as the great freeze of the pandemic slows enough so we may begin to step out more gingerly, and yet maybe not quite. Or maybe there are other reasons you feel caught in some situation that just doesn’t seem to be happening fast enough, perhaps seemingly not moving at all. This is exactly the time to check your filters. What filter are you choosing? Joy? Anticipation? Horror? Fear?
