First Full Moon of May
5.1.26
Scorpio brings in the usual suspects of consciousness crime
Two full moons in this month of May – twice the opportunity to release and let go of what needs letting go. May 1st is the first Full Moon at 11 degrees Scorpio. May 31 is the second Full Moon at 9 degrees Sagittarius. Maybe you’re cleaning out closets, cupboards, pantries, your fridge or maybe you’re clearing out old, outworn thoughts and false self-titles. Whatever you are releasing now at the first Full Moon of the month at 11 degrees Scorpio, you can pretty much count on deep emotions being a necessary part of the process. Scorpio, the fixed Water sign, is nothing if not passionate, intense, and deeply emotional.
Catharsis happens when pent-up emotions are released, you know, the ones most of us like to keep under wraps – sadness, disappointment, unrealized expectations, slow-burning anger that can boil up into rage. The usual suspects in the Scorpionic emotional responses are jealousy, possessiveness, abandonment, and betrayal. Scorpio is both secret-keeper and secret revealer so when this energy is at play much that is revealed can easily trigger a passionate response. Certainly we can see these energies playing out on the global scene in so many obvious and also subtle ways. Vying for power over others. De-valuing others and their rights. Disrespect for any and all sentient beings. Desecration of the Earth herself. On and on and on. Look for these lower vibrations in yourself so you can rid yourself of these toxic, anti-life energies. Each one of us is responsible for our own crap. Clean up yours, physically and energetically, and you’re helping the world!
Combine this Full Moon with the line-up of planets in Aries – Mercury, Chiron, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune, energy release can quickly move to action. Will your actions be driven by anger, hurt, and disappointment or will you walk the path of compassion (for yourself AND others) and choose kind and thoughtful action? With Mercury and Chiron conjunct in Aries – be aware of your words and be open to checking out where anger responses are coming from inside yourself. Mars in Aries is volatile and impulsive. Take many breaths before you respond to emotionally fraught triggers. Feeling angry? Do something that feeds your heart, like donating to a rescue organization or putting out a bird bath for our feathered, singing friends. ACTION with healthy emotional awareness is true personal empowerment.
Pluto in Aquarius for the next 20 years says: each person is to be empowered to create an egalitarian world community. Uranus has officially entered the mutable Air sign Gemini where it will be working its revolutionary, breakthrough energy for the next 7 years. Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and will be making a trine aspect to Pluto in Aquarius 7 July through 8 August at 4 degrees Gemini. A trine aspect is ripe with opportunity, ease and flow. I imagine pretty momentous breakthroughs in communication and connection between people will be front and center stage. Seeds are being planted. Time will reveal what germinates into reality. How this will affect you and play out in your own life can be seen by where these planets are working in your own chart. EXCITING to say the very least!!
MUCH info will be coming your way. Use your mind to receive information. Use your intuition and your heart to discern what will be appropriate action to take (if any) for you in your own unique circumstances and your own unique life path. Be aware of comparing yourself to anyone else. Walk your truth, your path. It’s all yours!
Considering the wisdom of Darwin as we are witnessing and participating in great shifts of energy and power – it is not the strongest or most clever who fare best in the evolutionary process – but the ones who are able to be adapt. Venus joins Uranus in Gemini through May 19th. Gemini is quintessentially adaptable. Step into it fully. Notice where your thoughts are rigid and inflexible. Melt them with love.

Arthur says: “When you’re overstimulated take a little ‘cat nap’ in a cozy spot. Always works for me.
The Sun in Taurus opposing the Scorpio moon reminds you to get your feet touching the Earth. Garden, Hug a tree. Ground any emotional response with Earth’s natural magnetic soothing. Herbal remedies can work wonders to calm your nervous system. I really like Jay Schwartz’s remedies which you can find on her site Plant Healing Woman. I also love the Perelandra remedies. They have an EFT formula which is like the Bach flower Rescue Remedy (also great) but a bit more potent. Taurus time invites you to be with the plant world. I revel with my indoor and outdoor plants daily (it’s the first thing I do every morning) and highly recommend plant-communing as a powerful and heartful grounding activity.
Take EXTRA good care of your precious self.
The times are mad but you don’t have to be!
