Two full moons in this month of May – twice the opportunity to release and let go of what needs letting go. May 1st is the first Full Moon at 11 degrees Scorpio. May 31 is the second Full Moon at 9 degrees Sagittarius. Maybe you’re cleaning out closets, cupboards, pantries, your fridge or maybe you’re clearing out old, outworn thoughts and false self-titles. Whatever you are releasing now at the first Full Moon of the month at 11 degrees Scorpio, you can pretty much count on deep emotions being a necessary part of the process. Scorpio, the fixed Water sign, is nothing if not passionate, intense, and deeply emotional.

Catharsis happens when pent-up emotions are released, you know, the ones most of us like to keep under wraps – sadness, disappointment, unrealized expectations, slow-burning anger that can boil up into rage. The usual suspects in the Scorpionic emotional responses are jealousy, possessiveness, abandonment, and betrayal. I imagine pretty momentous breakthroughs in communication and connection between people will be front and center stage. Seeds are being planted. Time will reveal what germinates into reality. Take a really deep breath as we each enter this Aries blast of energy, never seen or experienced in our lives or the lives of anyone who could remember. Saturn and Neptune last converged in Aries in 4361 B.C. I certainly can’t remember back that far. This New Moon at 28 degrees Aries joins not only Saturn at 7 degrees Aries and Neptune at 2 degrees Aries but is also joined by Chiron at 26 degrees Aries, Mars at 6 degrees Aries and Mercury at 3 degrees Aries. WOWZA!
An Aries blast of energy you will experience in your own way, shown by the house Aries rules in your chart and any planets or angle points that are influenced by that energy.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the cardinal Fire sign that leads the way for the journey around the wheel. Aries energy is new, vibrant, feisty, courageous, risk-taking, adventurous,

In the midst of a chilly winter day the Sun came out and I was greeted by this lovely ladybug, out for some warmth and to show off some wildly exciting color! It’s ever so important these days to notice little miracles. Little miracles brighten your mind to possibility. Possibility leads to avenues of exploration. Exploration leads to new and more viable solutions to anything and everything. We are entering a time in our personal and collective evolution where things yet unheard of will revolutionize stagnant situations and old thought forms, bringing in the NEW in ways we have yet to imagine. We stand witness to the dying of the old, excited to herald in the NEW, each of us in our own unique way.

To get there, to stand in excited awe of our unlimited potential to create, cultivate and nurture peace and love in your heart. Not easy. When I think of Sagittarius this RED color comes to mind – the fiery intensity of the mutable Fire sign, ruled by bigger-than-life Jupiter, passionate, driven by some big vision cause. Dynamic, funny, charming, and usually the life of the party, Sagittarius is prone to exaggeration and, when distorted – fanaticism. Sag energy is definitely fun! And we so need a hefty dose of fun these days. It is easy to fall into despair (what a slippery slope that is) and hopelessness so no more important time to nurture your tender heart than with a good, roaring laugh. My mother always said that you don’t have to look very far to find something to cry about, so spend at least that much energy to find things to be joyous about. How about the color of these poinsettias? WOWZA!!

I can already feel the intensity and focus of the upcoming New Moon at 28 degrees Sagittarius, exactly conjunct the Galactic Center. Such a powerful energy of creating the NEW. A perfect New Moon to align with your core energy, tell yourself the truth about everything (Sag is a zealot for truth), and set your intentions with clarity and happiness for what you want to create, experience, and affect in the coming months.

New Moon Solar Eclipse – 3.29.25 Supermoon heralds Neptune’s ingress into Aries

The New Moon Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees Aries is the second of a pair of eclipses this March – the Lunar Eclipse was 2 weeks ago. The Solar Eclipse on March 29th is a partial eclipse, though no less impactful in terms of germinating seeds of the NEW in your individual experience.

This New Moon is a SUPERMOON, closest to the Earth in its elliptical orbit. More impact. Bigger effects. Look to where 9 degrees Aries falls in your chart and if any planet or point is within 3 degrees of 9 degrees Aries. That is the area of your own life where you are planting seeds of the NEW for yourself.

Mercury and Venus are both moving retrograde at the eclipse and will be moving retrograde until mid-April. Mercury moving retrograde at zero degrees Aries, the point of PURE POTENTIAL, asks you to re-think. Venus retrograde asks you to re-evaluate. Re-thinking and re-evaluating are important before you take action as action will be determined by what becomes more and more clear to you over the next few weeks.

Venus moving retrograde at 28 degrees Pisces conjoins Neptune at the very last degree of Pisces, 29 degrees 48 minutes of Pisces, just minutes before Neptune enters zero degrees Aries – the point of PURE POTENTIAL, the beginning point of the zodiac, for Neptune’s first entry into this fiery Cardinal sign since 1860. Neptune will be in Aries until late October when it will retrograde back into Pisces until January 26, 2026. Then Neptune will move forward into Aries where it will be transiting Aries for the next 14 years.

The conjunction of Neptune and Venus at the New Moon is the promise of unconditional LOVE, a state of consciousness each of us is being asked to anchor into our individual and collective realities. Saturn at 24 degrees Pisces conjoins the North Node (where we’re headed) at 26 degrees Pisces. Saturn brings form and structure to what you envision. Keep note of ideas flooding your awareness. By May you will have clearer ideas of how and where to take action.

March has been, and continues to be, rockin’ and rollin’ with so much going on in our solar system that we here on Earth are reeling from the impact of shifting energies and of massive proportions. My best advice is to know what your lane is and stay in it. Scattering your energies into worries and concerns beyond your capabilities will only serve to frustrate you and keep you up at night. Indeed we are living in the most dynamic times. No question about that. Spring Equinox 2025

Mercury and Venus are moving retrograde this week in between the eclipses (New Moon Solar Eclipse will be on March 29th at 9 degrees Aries). Mercury and Venus are the planets closest to Earth, closest to us. This could be why their movement affects us more on a personal level. We feel their retrograde movements in our daily lives, more than we might notice Pluto or Neptune or Uranus (the outer, transpersonal planets) moving retrograde.

I was looking at daffodil bulbs pushing their way through the first breath of Spring soil, remarking on their soft, tender foliage, realizing the push for growth comes from deep inside the bulb, signaled to get things moving by changes in temperature and light. I feel like the more in tune I get with my own inner impulses – when to push forward, when to retreat, and when to lay still, I am aligning with forces that are happening, and I feel more at ease. Go with the retrogrades. Enjoy the pace.

Mercury will retrograde back into Pisces March 31 – April 16.
Venus will retrograde back into Pisces March 28 – April 30.

After briefly moving retrograde back into dreamy Pisces, Mercury and Venus will both re-enter Aries. Neptune will already have moved into Aries on March 31 after 14 years transiting Pisces.Where the early degrees of Aries fall in your chart will show you where this energy will be playing out in your life.

During these windows of revisiting Pisces, it’s entirely possible to experience things you thought you made progress on, as maybe not so. Don’t be at all surprised if you feel like you’re treading water or you move forward only to find yourself moving backwards again. Patience with yourself (and the times) is Aries’ challenge, Aries who prefers action and movement and running ahead, with little concern for consequences.

The retrogrades are slowing you down so you can reconsider action. Things will start moving more quickly in May so for now, embrace the slowness. Let things unfold as you take time for review. You will have more clarity in May. Things that have needed upgrade, after the retrograde review period, will get upgraded and forward moment will be waaay easier.

Spring has just arrived in the Northern hemisphere. All things reveal themselves in their proper time. Any plant will tell you that.

March Magic 2025 – resurrection ferns

These ferns are called Resurrection ferns and are found growing on the limbs of the great Southern oaks I got to visit when I was at John’s Nandi South retreat last month in Mobile, Alabama. I thought them to be the perfect representation of the energies of March 2025. These ferns curl up, appearing to be dead, when they are low in moisture and flush out thick and green when it rains, which is often along the Gulf. With the energies intensifying in focus this month you might find days of necessary retreat and other days when you can be totally out there, ready to engage with the world. Some of this month’s energies will have you flat out, with napping not an option but a must. Other days you’ll be antsy to get going on some new idea or project, one that you might be picking up again after letting it lay quiet for who knows how long.

The more you are able to tune in to the specific need of the day, specific to you and to the dominant energy of the day, the easier you will find these times to be. Fighting the current will be completely useless. Be with what is and take action as needed from there.

Sounds pretty easy but, I kid you not, it’s not always so easy, for all the reasons we give our power away to other people and situations. Monitor your own needs. Fill your own tank with good juju. Sleep if you’re tired, and who isn’t these days? Springtime energy is amping up – you will blossom at your appropriate time, unique soul that you are.

Eclipses are trigger points for change, signaling the germination of something new in your life. There are 2 eclipses this month – The Full Moon Lunar eclipse at 23 degrees Virgo

on March 14 and the New Moon Solar eclipse at 9 degrees Aries on March 29. If an eclipse falls within 3 degrees of a planet or point in your chart you will be moving lots of energy in those areas within 3 to 6 months.

Mercury stations retrograde on March 15 at 9 degrees Aries, moving back to 26 degrees Pisces on April 7. Mercury retrograde periods are a time to re-visit and re-evaluate the areas of your chart that Mercury is moving through. You’ll be feeling the Aries energy to move forward and then you will retrace your steps to re-evaluate what is best aligned with you at this time. What used to work may not anymore or may work with some adjustments. Stay as flexible and adaptable as possible for the most enjoyable ride, if enjoyable is what you’re after. I am, for sure.

Spring equinox is March 20, the ingress of the Sun to zero degrees Aries. Things will be quickening all around you. You will quicken as well.

Neptune enters Aries on March 30. Neptune has been transiting Pisces, the sign it rules, for the past 14 years. When an outer planet (Pluto, Neptune, Uranus) changes signs it is an epochal change, a generational imprint. We are emerging out of a Piscean time, rife as it has been with all kinds of things that have been pretty challenging to work with, especially if you’re a sensitive type. With Neptune moving into Aries followed later on this year by Saturn in Pisces also moving into Aries and Uranus moving from Taurus into Gemini (Pluto has already moved into Aquarius from Capricorn, getting to 3 degrees Aquarius this month) we see the elemental energy shift moving from WATER (Pisces)and EARTH (Capricorn and Taurus) to FIRE (Aries) and AIR (Gemini).
Will we see things more clearly? Think more clearly?
Will we be able to take action when action is needed?

Venus retrograde 2025
