The Full Moon Lunar eclipse falls on Sunday night, May 15, so get your spring planting in before that. Best to plant as the moon waxes towards full as this is when the energy is building, building, building. Working with the ebb and flow of the lunar cycle aligns you with the energetic flow of the moon’s powerful effect. Seeds and seedlings planted before the moon turns Full align with the release energy of the full moon. Seeds break out of their protective coats. Seedlings leave the confinement of their pots, expanding their roots to anchor them for summer’s growth. Align with the plant cycles. Release yourself from what confines you, what limits your potential growth. Release stagnant relationship patterns and constricting thought forms. The Full Moon lunar eclipse is a re-boot in all areas related to the Scorpio moon. No question that it feels like we are in some sort of vortex of endless Mercury retrograde. I know I feel that way for sure. Appointments mixed and confused. Needing to re-do and triple check things endlessly. Feeling discombobulated and topsy turvy, not knowing which end is up or if there even is an up. To be expected in these times of great transition and to think you chose to incarnate for this madness…you did!

During Mercury retrograde, a 3-week cycle that occurs 3 to 4 times each year, it’s best to slow down and reconsider all communications, correspondences, and all thoughts! As always in the dance of the cosmos many things are going on at the same time. Jupiter enters Aries on May 11, amping up the whole shebangie bang and yet as Mercury retrogrades back into Taurus (May 24 – June 13) you will want to slow things down. I know, maddening, right? Speeding up as Jupiter enters the Mars-ruled fiery sign of Aries and cool it all down as Mercury moves through Taurus(again), which is all to say:

find your own speed and stick with it.

Take care of business that needs to be taken care of so that when Mercury goes direct on June 3

(Mercury fully re-enters Gemini on June 14 even though it will have been moving direct for 10 days at that time) you will be ready to move forward with more certainty and more clarity as to what is really important to you. Full Moon total Lunar eclipse coming up on May 15. Eclipses are trigger points for growth and change.

Spring is arriving in my neck of the woods, tentatively, in spurts and splutters, shyly, it seems and with caution. We already had a surprise freeze that took out all the daffodils and hyacinths before they had a chance to fragrance the air and yet the flowering fruit trees are sending out a resounding flourish of deep joy. As it always is, Nature has her own methods, her own resiliency. The daffodils and hyacinths will return next year, the complex interconnected cycle of all things continues to roll and we with it.

One of the most fascinating cycles to follow in your chart is the effect of eclipses. Eclipses are re-boots, re-sets, in the areas of your chart hit by the eclipses, amplified by planets that might be activated by the eclipses. The orb of influence for an eclipse is just 3 degrees so when and where an eclipse hits your chart there is no mistaking it. Eclipses will show you what mini-chapter of your life will be your next focus. Eclipses usually come in pairs and occasionally, just to shake things up, there are 3 in a row. This year, 2022, there are 2 sets of eclipses. each set both a New Moon Solar eclipse and a Full Moon Lunar eclipse. Sometimes an eclipse is total and will have somewhat more impact than a partial but all eclipses are informative.

The first eclipse of the first pair of eclipses this year falls on April 30. The Sun and the Moon will both be at 10 degrees Taurus and there will be a partial Solar eclipse, meaning the Moon will cast a partial shadow on the Sun as it moves between the Earth and the Sun. In the U.S. we will not see the eclipse as it falls in the wee-est hours of the morning, but the effects will be felt all the same. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur on May 15 and it will be a total lunar eclipse, meaning the moon will be completely shadowed by the Earth moving in between the Sun and the Moon.

The New Moon in Taurus, fecund with new life bursting forth, invites you into the Venus-ruled world of beauty and sensuality.
