Mercury and Mars are driving me to distraction

Frustration with technology has reached an all time high for me. First and foremost, I see that Constant Contact (I send my email newsletters through Constant Contact and keep track of lists and whatnot) has once again “upgraded” their system. Why? Why? Clearly, they have staff on the payroll who are spending too much time in the break room, so they decide periodically (just when I have figured out how to actually use the program) to change everything. Obviously, this is designed to drive me mad and I have to call on all my calming techniques just to get through this first email. I’ve already emptied the dishwasher, cleaned the entire kitchen, and put a pot of beans up to boil. It’s unfathomable what I just found growing in jars in the fridge whose disposal of has significantly calmed me down. I calm down in the kitchen, at least for now, until something gets upgraded in there and then I will have to find other places to clean.

Yesterday technology beat me to a pulp and I had to crawl into the fetal position and bawl my eyes out until I got really pissed off that I had given my energy and power away to the voracious, blood-sucking techno beast of the iphone. I had purchased stunning winter flowers and yummy smelling evergreens to create new episodes for my youtube channel, The Flower Channel, and the techno beasts that dominate our present reality decided to play havoc with me. Filming was clearly NOT going to happen. So I just watched Netflix for a few hours until I calmed myself down and got myself off the cliff I was ready to plummet myself off of. I’ll re-film today – ok I thought today but I just got a message from my video dude that he can’t come ’til later this week (of course, what else would happen to slow this process down?) – so…will I let the timing of the universe ruin my day? No! I will find other cool and interesting things to do and when things align better I will move forward. With Jupiter still in Pisces (will Jupiter EVER leave Pisces? YES! on the Solstice!) there’s just not much more I can do to make things happen but I can certainly clean out some drawers. Oh also there are totally cool videos newly uploaded from a stash I had created for the autumn and they are lovely so take a load off and catch some flower faerie magic on The Flower Channel. Arthur is in some of the videos. He’s such a ham.

Which is all to say that Mercury in the shadow of its retrograde period and Mars going totally berserk retrograde in Gemini really got to me. And I don’t see an end in sight any time soon.

Mercury will start its actual retrograde motion on December 29 at 24 degrees Capricorn. Mercury will move retrograde until January 18 where it will have moved back to 8 degrees Capricorn. I know where Mercury is stirring the pot in my chart and when you know where it will be moving in yours you can prepare yourself for all its mischief-making and maybe (if you’re lucky and have your head on straight) you will not take it all too seriously and not find yourself crawled into a fetal position crying your eyes out.

Mars is retrograde until January 11th but will be transiting Gemini until March 25th by which time my head will have turned so many times on my neck that all bets are off as to which way I will be looking. Hopefully forward.

Neptune is moving direct at 22 degrees Pisces which only means that the fog you have been navigating (wherever Neptune is transiting your chart) is calling you to move gingerly through it still. Oh fun!

It is GOOD to know what’s happening in the cosmos so you don’t blame yourself for whatever stops, starts, havoc, frustrations, and delights may be coming your way! To be in community is the yummiest way to assuage any loneliness you might be feeling and to validate your own experience of these wild and exciting times of birthing an entirely new paradigm for our lives here on this gorgeous planet!

Full Moons are times to release and with Mars exactly conjunct the Moon at 16 degrees Gemini you can be pretty well assured that this Full Moon will bring endless opportunities to talk about what feelings are being triggered and stimulated to be released. Mars is a super activator, and at this Full Moon, activating your emotional, receptive nature that your mind creates. It’s so important to remember that the mind has its own agenda that is influenced by all the things it has thought and processed over the many years of your life. Will you confront your own thought patterns and programming to free yourself of what may be holding you back from fully and completely opening your heart?

Venus at 27 degrees Sagittarius forms an out-of-sign conjunction with Mercury, the ruler of Gemini.

When the LOVE planet hooks up with Mercury there will be much conversation of who and how you love.

And much conversation with those you love or want to love more or wish you didn’t love, A lot of interest in the LOVE area working its way through the filters of your mind.

With Uranus, planet of liberation through chaos, conjunct the North Node (our collective destiny) there is a very strong urge to be free, to be liberated and to re-align our core values with what creates freedom for us individually and for the collective. Are your actions aligned with your values?

Jupiter and Neptune are hanging pretty close in at 29 degrees and 22 degrees Pisces. Jupiter is moving DIRECT now and will re-enter Aries at the Winter Solstice. It is slowly pulling away from Neptune but at the Full Moon their energies are still influencing one another. Jupiter is expanding the Neptunian tendencies to dream and also to want to escape. You could still be feeling confused and unclear as to the next steps to take. If you are feeling hesitant to take action but feeling antsy like you should be taking action…you will feel clearer and more able to move forward after Jupiter enters Aries on the 21st. Then things might be moving faster than you had thought they would.

Neptune is creating a square to the Full Moon adding to confusion and lack of clarity as to what needs your attention. Slow down. Take some really deep breaths. Allow your Higher Guidance, your intuitive knowingness, to soothe you as you navigate these tumultuous waters. You will land exactly where you feel you will. Tune in to your feelings, uplifting them with positive, joy-enhancing thoughts.

Where are the Planets moving this week?

Winter Solstice 2022

Pluto is moving very slowly through 26 degrees Capricorn. Sometimes Pluto can feel like it is not moving at all but it is and Pluto’s influence is working on us all the time. As Pluto approaches the final degrees of its transit through the cardinal earth sign Capricorn, many things are shifting in preparation for an entirely new vibration coming our way when Pluto enters Aquarius in March 2023.

Neptune is hovering at 22 degrees Pisces still moving retrograde very slowly but poised to turn direct on December 4. Neptune in Pisces for sure adds to the confusion that Jupiter retrograding back into Pisces had brought. Get out your intuitive toolbox and hone those tools! Your intuition is your most powerful guide during these times of heightened confusion.

Uranus is moving retrograde at 16 degrees Taurus. So much is up for us that feels chaotic and surprises hit us every day pushing us to confront our core values. Challenging, for sure.

Saturn is moving forward at 19 degrees Aquarius. Saturn is pushing us to open to new ways of thinking, opening us to invite in new ideas, not without resistance. Saturn shows you where your learning edge is and that edge is inherently difficult to embrace, but worth taking on!

Jupiter moved Direct on November 23 at the New Moon of Sagittarius. Jupiter will move through

28 and 29 degrees Pisces and then re-enter Aries on the Solstice, December 21.

Mars is frenetically making its way retrograde in Gemini. Keep that mind in check or it could bring you to places you don’t want to go.

Venus is in the teen degrees of Sagittarius adding a gregarious, expanded emotional experience.

Venus looks to the bigger picture and finds some relief there. Spending time nurturing your spiritual life will help alleviate some of the tension of these times.

Mercury is also very busy and activated in the mutable fire sign Sagittarius. Lots of socializing and talking about expanded viewpoints and horizons. Mercury in Sagittarius helps you see the bigger perspective. Let that bigger perspective bring your relief.
