Full Moon in Capricorn – 7.21.24

A volatile, explosive week, to say the least. How did you do with all that? I used the drama to investigate in myself where I hold violence, hatred, judgment and intolerance. I decided the best thing I could do would be to become more aware of these tendencies in myself and work to let go of them. If we’re going to shift the poles on polarity to neutral, to cultivate peacefulness inside our own skins, it has to begin with each of us. For me it begins with me. No surprise that I have been dealing with a recurring eye infection that the eye doctors (2 of them) agreed is a virus. According to Louise Hay in her You Can Heal Your Life bible, eye problems are about not liking what I see in my life. Her suggested affirmation for this manifestation of discomfort is: “I create a life that I love to see.” Interesting. Provocative. Surprising. Working the magic of shifting my mind to what I want without focusing on all the things I dislike and don’t want – like violence. hatred, judgment, and intolerance. Radical acceptance of my own crap with the added bonus of then being able to go deeper in my own healing. Each of us a helper in creating the NEW, loved-based world. It’s pretty vigilant work requiring overtime attention but worth it to birth the NEW!

There are 2 full moons in Capricorn this summer – the first was on June 21 at 1degree Capricorn, the second on July 21 at 29 degrees Capricorn. A distinctly Saturnian message as Saturn is the planetary ruler of the cardinal Earth sign Capricorn. A Capricorn moon can feel cold and dry, serious and yet, in its highest manifestation – the perfection of the Divine Masculine – taking care of what needs taken care of, mastery of the areas where Capricorn influences your chart. The totem/glyph for Capricorn is the mythical Sea Goat. With Saturn moving through the dreamy sign Pisces these days the magic of the Sea Goat is amplified.

The Full Moon on July 21 at 29 degrees Capricorn, 29 being the critical last degree of a sign, can show you the mastery of all you have learned in this moon cycle. Honing any navigational tools will help you in anything you desire to experience. What are you dreaming into form? Watch for censoring or limiting your dreams. Be open to the magic of vibrational alignment. The Law of Attraction is just that. A Law of the Universe. God knows I’ve tried to argue with it but that Law wins every time.

Emotions can be running extremely high with the Moon conjunct Pluto, one degree of separation. The Moon and Pluto form an-out-of-sign conjunction. They each bring the energy of the sign they are transiting. The Moon in Capricorn is sentimental for the old ways, the traditions; Pluto in Aquarius sees only moving forward, a rebellious force for innovation. Clearly some tension there.

The Full Moon makes a square to the Eris-Chiron conjunction in Mars-ruled Aries and Mars still conjoins Uranus, though that is also an out-of-sign conjunction. Mars enters Gemini on the 21st as the moon turns Full. Mars flew past Uranus at 26 degrees Taurus. This is hopeful for dialog and conversation as opposed to wanting to blow everything up. Let’s hold that thought.

Venus conjoins asteroid Vesta in Leo. Vesta is the keeper of the sacred flame. Pump up the volume on your Leo-pampering. Love on others extravagantly and love on yourself even more.

Mercury enters Virgo on July 26 and begins a 3-week retrograde period on August 5. More on that coming up. Mercury rules Virgo and is super happy there – busy, busy, busy, organizing and itemizing, figuring out what to do with everything your mind has been up to. Excellent at throwing out the unnecessaries to make room for the must-haves. All around tidy-upper where tidying is required. I’m already into this – I bought all new velvety-felty hangers for my closet – a thrill for this Mercury-Jupiter in Virgo person!

This morning, I had a deep understanding of shame as a tool of oppression for our tender souls. I reflected on how shamed I have been for being intuitive, feeling-based, and empathic. In my growing-up family those qualities were ignored when they weren’t being actively maligned. I learned to not share what I knew and then I even kept that knowing from myself. Reclaiming these qualities as my own True North, my personal navigation system for moving through the world, has given me myself back to me.

I don’t know how you’re faring in your neck of the woods, but the temps and tempers are rising like mad over here. I got completely triggered by a person who has pushed my buttons for years and whose words and antics I thought I had neutralized. Clearly I had not. Worked myself into a little anger fit, which I processed with some loving friends and, after a shorter time than it usually takes me to calm down, I did. It’s not that people, things, and circumstances that have annoyed and infuriated you will not continue to do so, they might, but it is how quickly you can return to calm that is the good and important work. My personal goal is to not to be triggered at all, but until I get there (if ever), I want to be able to return to equanimity in a moment, a flash, a breath. I probably will have lots of practice as this is a person who I consider to be a great spiritual teacher to me, for if I can achieve my goal (my Capricorn energy sooo wants to achieve a challenging goal!) I am expanding my consciousness into radical acceptance and love, freeing myself from the tyranny of my ego, and this person is the PERFECT person to push me there.

You might have someone, or someones, in your life who push you along on your spiritual path. I love that story of the Dalai Lama and his tea server, which I am completely paraphrasing (apologies) but you’ll get the point. The tea server was clumsy, coming off as disrespectful. When asked why he keeps that person as his tea server the master responded something like: He is my greatest spiritual teacher in my learning to accept all things. Interesting. Challenging. Provocative.

I have had my share of provocateurs in my life, pushing me to grow. As probably have you! With Mercury and Venus transiting the Fixed Fire sign of LEO, you can be pretty sure that dramatic words and gestures are to be expected, provocateurs to your equanimity. The question is: will you be in the LOVE zone, accepting all experiences as opportunities to soften your heart, listen to your heart, strengthen your heart with LOVE and radical acceptance or will you work out the energy with song and dance and laugher and creative expressions of LOVE (the giant LEO heart!) that surprise even you? We are all traversing such interesting terrain these days as the very Earth beneath our feet and the air that holds us is shifting and changing. Personally I feel very connected to what’s happening in our solar system, our cosmic family, which you probably do as well. As I navigate these curious times, I find that the more I follow the celestial movements the more connected I feel to the whole unfolding process, the more I understand my role in this whole she-bangie bang, and that makes the ride better in all ways.

Pluto is moving retrograde at 1 degree Aquarius. Venus is squaring Pluto so don’t be surprised if patterns of giving and receiving LOVE challenges you this week. AH!…the challenges! The opportunities! Pluto will retrograde back into Capricorn from September 2 through November 20. After that Pluto will fully enter rebel Aquarius for the next 20 years. For sure, a wild ride that has just begun. Radical innovations and global interconnectedness awareness.

Neptune is moving retrograde at 29 degrees Pisces, the last degree of its transit through the sign Neptune rules. Still a lot of delusion and dream-states to navigate. Stay grounded.

Uranus is at 26 degrees Taurus, creating all kinds of liberating havoc in your relationships to what you truly value.

Saturn is moving retrograde at 19 degrees Pisces. Revisiting structures to support your dreams. Form for your visions of what you wish create and see in your world, in your life experience.

Jupiter is flying through busy bee Gemini at 10 degrees. Your mind is running on overtime. Jot ideas down but don’t try to get anything done right this very moment, unless you have the focus to do so, Jupiter in Gemini can scatter your interests so you can collect info. But action is only right if it totally feels right.

Mars is finishing his time in Taurus as the fiery Aries-ruled planet makes a hot conjunction to Uranus. This is a potentially explosive energy so keep yourself cooled down in all situations. Mars will enter Gemini on July 21. This will move aggression from the physical into more conversation.
And that will be waaay mo’ betta.

This New Moon in Cancer is joined by Venus transiting Cancer at 22 degrees. A softness for sure, and also opportunities to look at where you want to bring in deeper experiences of feeling safe, secure, and connected to your own inner home. You might find yourself reflecting on how you were parented. If re-parenting yourself is required (and for so many of us it is required to live a life of sanity and peace), know that you have the divine right to be parented with love, acceptance, encouragement, and joy. If you weren’t given this, give it to yourself. Much cause for celebration when you stop looking behind you and start looking to what you want to create.

With Saturn transiting Pisces at 19 degrees, the Moon makes a trine aspect to the teacher of maturity and discipline. Implementing actions that support your sense of security would be the order of the day, like committing to a meditation process and/or writing in your GRATITUDE journal every day. Disciplined actions to support your connection to Source, your higher consciousness connected to ALL THAT IS, these are the types of committed disciplines that can make a significant change in your life, especially if you’re prone to anxiety and catastrophizing (I speak from experience).

Mars at 19 degrees Taurus is moving towards an exact conjunction with Uranus at 25 degrees Taurus that will occur on July 14-15. We are already feeling the intensity of this aspect.Best case scenario – the assertiveness and action of Mars energy will stimulate and light up innovative solutions to Earth/ monetary issues. We know that already Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean is evidence of Mother Nature heating up. Issues of homelessness and lack of safety felt by many, nurtured by fear and xenophobia, could have breakthroughs into the LIGHT. Hold the vision for positive change whenever you see or experience situations that seem unsolvable. All problems have solutions. Envision the genius of humans to break through any resistance to health, prosperity, and safety for all beings – anchoring in the knowingness of our ONENESS. Holding the vision for liberation for all (Pluto in Aquarius) is the MOST IMPORTANT work you can do right now. Kiss the sky, Dance on the Earth. We each hold a key to the NEW. Let’s bring THE NEW in together! Keep up the good and sacred work of HOPE. Light your candle and hold it high.

The Chiron-Asteroid Eris conjunction at 23 and 25 degrees Aries respectively, is causing all kinds of brouhaha as traumas from the past are re-lived to be released. The re-living of discord is never easy but, once revealed, is open to healing. When each of us chooses to do the work of healing trauma, we move closer to our own liberation, our freedom from whatever has enslaved us.

As we move fully into the Aquarian Age heralded by Pluto’s full ingress into Aquarius on November 20 (after moving retrograde back into Capricorn 2 September – 19 November), freedom and liberation from what binds us to outdated restricted thinking followed by restricted action, will indeed be a thing of a past. It’s almost like each of us has to navigate through an opening from what was to what is becoming. Exciting! Birth! Birth of the NEW, individually and collectively.
