Full Moon in Aquarius – 8.1.23

A rich and luscious time reveling in the first harvests of all kinds of wondrous gifts from the Earth.These are yummy chokecherries enjoying some morning sun. The Full Moon in Aquarius on August 1st marks the half-way point between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox. A time of deep appreciation for abundance in all the ways abundance comes to us. The cycles keep us on track, keep us connected to the GREAT RHYTHM.

The Leo-Aquarius axis of this Full Moon sheds an emotionally detached perspective on how you are using your ego-light in your life. Much can be revealed with the intuitive light of the FULL MOON as to how you are serving your Ego or how your Ego is serving you. In the Leo-Aquarius axis we confront ingrained systems of hierarchy and entitlement with the Aquarian imperative of liberation and equal everything for everyone and everything. Look to your own chart to see where the axis of 9 degrees Leo-Aquarius falls. This where you can see what might need letting go of in order to be a more integrated part of your tribe.

Mercury entered Virgo on July 29th and will be transiting the mutable Earth sign it rules until October. On August 24 Mercury will station retrograde at 21 degrees Virgo moving retrograde to 8 degrees Virgo on September 15. I couldn’t be happier.

Virgo, archetype of the High Priestess harvesting everything she had planted months ago, delights in her harvest, considering well what to save and what to return to the Earth, what to distribute in her service to Spirit, and what to refine and keep for her own health and well-being.

Look to where Virgo is in your own chart to get the full benefit of her discernment, her refinement, and her ability to separate the wheat from the chaff. You will be organizing, setting up new systems to manage your life tasks with more efficiency and more alignment with the natural rhythms of the Universe. AH…I feel better already!

Venus retrograde in LEO

I’m clearly in a LEO state of mind, as no doubt you are as well, what with the Sun just entering Leo, Mercury transiting Leo, and Venus moving retrograde in Leo. In fact, Venus will move back from 28 degrees Leo to 12 degrees Leo and then will re-visit all those degrees of Leo and then move on to Virgo mid-October. That’s a deliciously long visit of Venus in the fixed fire sign Leo.

The first thing that comes to mind when I tune in to Leo energy is CREATIVITY. You are a unique creative being, capable of bringing forth a perfect expression of You-ness. I can’t think of a time in history where your unique, creative contribution is needed more than now.

The other thing that pops up front and center when I tap into Leo energy is PLAY. Leo is playful (think kittens) and loves to express itself through PLAY. Check in with yourself looking specifically for how much time you dedicate to playing and expressing your creative essence.

Whether you think of yourself as creative or not (I am always shocked at how many people do not experience themselves as creative!) -YOU ARE A CREATIVE BEING! You are creating every moment of every day. When you direct that creative energy into some expression of yourselfness…wowza! that feels wonderful.

Now think of cats,,,pleasure-seeking, lots of snooze time, and wildly creative in the ways they learn to get their needs met. Take some wisdom from the cats and work their energy. You have LEO energy working somewhere in your chart so look to that area for insight as to where this creative energy could be working.

And let’s not forget that Leo energy can be waaay dramatic. What kind of drama are you giving attention to today? Hopefully the kind that makes you happier, freeing up energy to bring more Leo-inspired Venusian beauty into the world.

For me it’s every and all gifts that Nature, the great Mother of us all, bestows on us every day in every way. I am a devoted seeker of beauty in all its forms. The birds are speaking to me. The flowers are singing their summer song. The breezes waft in delicious scents of roses and faerie bells and the clouds revel in their dance through the sky.
