Full Moon in Pisces – a VERY BLUE MOON

Between the sentimental dreaminess of the Pisces Moon conjoining Saturn and the intensified mischief of Mercury retrograde in Virgo pushing for order in the Divine chaos of it all, I decided doing laundry in the way my mother would have done it in our summer days in the Catskill mountains back in the 60’s would be the best way to work this energy. And it is.

Mercury turned retrograde on August 23rd at 21 degrees Virgo and will be making its way back to 8 degrees Virgo on September 15. Already many things have gone wonky, askew and generally kerfuffled in almost unimaginable ways. And…it’s just begun! You will feel the urge to get things organized, to put things in order and then you will find yourself distracted as the Moon, Saturn and Neptune transiting the mutable water sign Pisces seduce you into the realm of fantasy and chaotic confusion, your best-intended plans gone to crap and you’re binge-watching White Lotus, which you have already seen but feel you must see again. Or whatever is your favorite distraction from tending to the details of your world calling to you from the edges of your awareness.

The obvious, though often wrestled with, path is to do pleasurable things that help to ground you (for me it’s laundry) while you enjoy letting go of all other things until after the Full Moon, the second Full Moon of this month – the BLUE MOON – passes. This moon is also the SUPERMOON closest to the Earth in its elliptical orbit this year. I saw it at is 93.8% waxing gibbous phase last night and it was undeniably ginormous. Check it out tonight (howling encouraged)!

The Virgo Sun – Pisces Moon dynamic will always see-saw you between the urge to get everything organized, tidy, all ducks in a row (Virgo Sun) while the Pisces energy will draw you into the inevitable pull to entropy. You get to decide where you are on that spectrum at any point during the day and BE THAT. Fighting against the flow will only leave you exhausted as going with the flow (your flow) will keep you energized and engaged.

Pisces is the expansive potential of all things. Virgo brings all that energy into form and function. The trick is to know when to ground the expansiveness into form. You’re here to blow your own mind with ecstatic Piscean yumminess and bring it into Virgo practicality. Will your Virgo energy allow you to do just that? This Full Moon will support you in letting go of the edges of your comfort zone and allowing for Divine inspiration to guide and direct you.

The Sun at 7 degrees Virgo is being conjoined by Black Lilith. Time to acknowledge that which you have disowned, integrating all disowned parts into your Self so you may be effective as service to Spirit. After all is said and done, you ARE a spiritual being having a physical experience so…own it!

With Mercury transiting Virgo for soooo long (through October 5th this year!) I am over-the-top antsy to tidy, clean up, get rid of, organize, and generally get things in some semblance of order. This is all well and good as I like to make big messes doing creative projects and find that I enjoy the cleaning up after as much as I enjoy the creating of! I am finding that this time of the New Moon in creative Leo and the heightened energy of a Virgo Mercury creating and tidying up afterward go hand-in-hand..for me! Knowing your own chart, your tendencies, your preferences, your pleasures and your delights makes for a better experience each and every day.

New Moon in LEO says: GET CREATIVE! Let those juices flow. Each moment is a creative opportunity. What does your heart call you to create? A road trip? A collage? Lunch? Do that!

Not that there aren’t surprises, Uranian-style, to rock your boat, shake you out of any lethargy (lingering or new) and awaken you to the preciousness of each day. We humans love to live in the illusion that we are in control. Ha! The only thing you have control over is how you respond to everything you have no control over. And that’s an illusion too if you have not cleared out your ancestral and early childhood programming. If you have not tended to cleaning out that rat’s nest then you may think you are making decisions with ‘free will’ and ‘free choice’ but really you are just reacting with your pre-programmed responses. And, of course, there is the trauma each of us has experienced in one way or another throughout this incarnation. When trauma patterns are triggered – and sometimes they are running 24/7 like a virus in your computer – don’t forget computers are created by humans and demonstrate the same ‘issues’ humans have!- those trauma triggers create all kinds of havoc in your world. So…no better time than RIGHT NOW – to clear that crap out once and for all so you can live free of the old stories, free to live in your sovereignty.

Sovereignty! The perfect LEO word. This New Moon’s shadow potential is heightened by a conjunction from Black Moon Lilith, the dissociated, rejected part of yourself that must be integrated into the full picture in order to be functioning at your potential – if you want that! Being fully integrated with all your parts makes for happier, less stressed out, less anxiety-ridden YOU.

Lion’s Gate Portal – 8.8.2023

I like to follow the cosmological line-ups and see for myself if the astro chatter is true for me or not.
I recommend this for all astro info – is it relevant to you, to what’s going in your chart,in your life?

This particular portal, which happens every year during the time when the Sun is transiting the fixed FIRE sign, LEO, is purported to be an opening into which you pour your heartfelt .desires for alignment with manifestation. I like the sound of that – who wouldn’t?

At the Lion’s Gate portal the Sun aligns with Orion (of belt fame) and Sirius, the Dog star. Check it out for yourself on this propitious day. Set your intentions directly from your heart into the portal you imagine is open to receive your desires.

Then what? Wait for signs.

For me signs come through animals. A grasshopper jumped on me twice today – am I ready to make a leap? There is a magical bunny who lives in the back yard who hops over to visit with me when we spot each other in the yard. Little toads have been jumping around too. And the birds are chattering like mad. Clearly the grasshopper, rabbit, and toads are hoppers, jumpers. What jumping do I need to do to manifest my desires? Something for me to ponder. And birds…well we know their magical gift of flight. Am I preparing to take flight? To where? To what fulfilled desire?
